About NewsLeap
From the headline to the whole story — the news, moved forward.
NewsLeap Media Inc. is a Toronto-based editorial newsroom publishing independent Canadian journalism in English. We explain complex national stories with provincial nuance — how federal policy lands in Calgary rental markets, how grid rules affect Montreal data centres, how transit delays show up on a bus map in Scarborough.
Our name reflects the editorial motion we aim for: The Leap — moving from a headline to durable understanding. We are not affiliated with any Leap-branded consumer app, fitness product, or automated PR wire service. NewsLeap is a staffed newsroom with named editors, verifiable contact details, and published standards.
What we publish
Eight beats structure our coverage: business and economy, technology, transit, environment and energy, culture, world affairs with a Canadian lens, science, and clearly labelled opinion. Stories must pass verification, section editing, and standards review before publication.
We cite primary sources — statistical releases, regulatory filings, court documents, and on-the-record interviews. Anonymous sourcing is rare and requires editor approval with documented reason.
What we refuse
We do not publish fabricated quotes, deceptive AI-generated personas presented as real people, or sponsor-written copy dressed as news. Paid partnerships, when they exist, carry visible labels and never assign news coverage.
Membership
Optional membership from C$8 per month helps fund reporting and newsletter delivery. Essential public-interest coverage remains free to read. Membership details are available by contacting [email protected].
Governance
NewsLeap Media Inc. is registered in Canada (BN 761234985 RC0001). Our office at 168 Front Street East, Suite 105, Toronto, ON M5A 1E6 welcomes scheduled visits by appointment.
Editorial team
Our desk includes section editors for business, technology, transit, environment, culture, world affairs, science, and opinion, supported by fact-checkers and production staff. Byline authors are real contributors listed on each story.
Corrections: email [email protected] with the story URL and supporting documentation. We append dated correction notes to articles when errors affect meaning.
